Before you can board a business flight to the EU, there are a few things you’ll need to check on your passport to ensure it’s valid for travel. The first one is to find out your passport renewal date, as it’s recommended that on the day of travel you have at least six months or more left on your passport. This should include at least three months after the date you intend to leave the EU country you will be visiting.
Your passport also needs to be less than 10 years old on the day after you leave. This means you may need to renew your passport before travelling to avoid getting stuck, unable to travel to or from the EU. Remember, if your current passport was renewed before the last one expired it may have some extra months added to its expiry date. However, these additional months won’t count towards the minimum period needed to travel.
