ACE Travel is pleased to announce our insurance affiliate programme with Campbell Irvine Ltd, providing personal COVID-19 travel insurance for those travelling overseas during these difficult times.
With travel underway once again, it’s more important than ever that individual travellers and organisations are protected. A high-quality, accredited corporate or personal insurance policy will offer you peace of mind and allow you to book travel with confidence. This means that you can continue to conduct business across the world or enjoy some personal holiday time safe in the knowledge that you have a dedicated, trusted insurer covering you should the worst happen. Our personal CV-19 insurance cover is designed to provide cover for cancellation so long as you are formerly diagnosed with an illness that on medical grounds prevents travel and is supported by a medical certificate from your GP. All necessary medical emergency and associated expenses will be covered if you are diagnosed with coronavirus whilst travelling overseas.
A bespoke corporate travel insurance policy can be obtained to provide cover against FCO advice.
Whilst premium personal and business travel insurance will allow you to travel freely, and with confidence, there are several considerations that you need to bear in mind. Firstly, our COVID-19 travel insurance does not supersede FCO (Foreign & Commonwealth Office) advice against travelling for single persons. This means that if a destination is considered too high-risk by the UK Government, your personal cover or business travel insurance will not cover you in case of coronavirus infection.
Policies can be purchased for cover against FCO travel advice through our partners at Campbell Irvine. These are quoted on a case-by-case basis, looking at the risk of infection in each destination, the potential risks to a traveller, the length of stay etc. Business travel insurance policies can provide broader cover against FCO advice in addition to providing coverage for additional expenses incurred when employees need to travel due to CV-19 incidents.

Who can apply for CV-19 Business Travel Insurance?
Our COVID-19 travel insurance policy, through Campbell Irvine Ltd, is only available for any persons who reside in the UK or countries within the EU (excluding Switzerland, Russia, Belarus, Montenegro, and Ukraine). For annual multi-trip policies you must permanently reside in the UK or countries within the EU (excluding Switzerland, Russia, Belarus, Montenegro, and Ukraine) for the entire 12 month period of the policy. This specific policy is designed for individuals, rather than a whole organisation’s business travellers.

How much is personal & business travel insurance?
Each travel insurance policy cost is tailored to the needs of the traveller. This will largely depend on the type of travel (single trip, multi-trip etc), the destination, and the length of stay. Campbell Irvine provides a full breakdown of costs for your organisation so you can purchase a policy with confidence.
Is business travel insurance a legal requirement?
Simply put: no. You are not legally required to purchase a travel insurance policy ahead of a business trip. However, it may be a requirement of your business travel policy, so in order to stay compliant, you should always consult the policy and make an appropriate purchase.
Despite not being a legal requirement, ACE Travel highly recommends that you always equip your travellers with cover – ensuring that they are protected wherever they are in the world. For more information about the importance of travel insurance, speak to a member of our team.
Is COVID-19 covered by travel insurance companies?
In the main, COVID-19 related claims are not covered by standard travel insurance companies, and Campbell Irvine’s tailored schemes will not provide cover against FCO advice. For COVID-19 travel insurance cover, you will need to purchase a dedicated travel policy to ensure maximum protection for your organisation and its travellers.
