Head of Sales and Marketing
Call: 0845 241 3406
I have now worked in the Business Travel Industry for over 21 years, embracing, evolving and learning from all of the opportunities that have appeared in my career path. The travel industry has changed immensely during this time and I am proud to combine my fundamental skills with current technology and processes etc to fulfil my role as Head of Sales and Marketing at ACE.
Taking my footsteps into the travel industry over two decades ago – I really didn’t know what direction I would take, partaking in interviews with the traditional high street retail agent and ACE when I left college after completing my Leisure and Tourism GNVQ. Back in those days the difference between corporate and leisure travel wasn’t really explained at college – but looking back now I am so pleased that I secured my first job at ACE and thus landed the opportunity to explore the corporate travel world.
Progressing through roles ranging from Business Travel Consultant, Supervisor and Operations Manager – I now occupy the role of Head and Sales and Marketing and gain great satisfaction in applying my knowledge to the benefit of our clients. I am fascinated by the additional services that are now available in the travel industry to enhance our value proposition and I enjoy analysing, researching and proposing opportunities for improvement to strengthen our clients travel programme. With items such as traveller safety, duty of care, traveller wellness and sustainability now forming part of our suite of services, making my role incredible interesting and diverse.
I am proud to have worked at ACE for over 20+ years – providing the personal and professional service that you can expect from an independent agency. I look forward to embracing the next chapter with our great team and mentoring the next generation of ACE.
At which shop would you like to max out your credit card?
I’m a big fan of independent traders and am always attracted to thoughtful, funky and unique gift idea’s - so for me it would have to be www.notonthehighstreet.com offering a great selection for family, friends and the home.
Where’s your favourite place to travel?
I absolutely love landing in a country where the culture and cuisine is completely different than what we are used to in the U.K. We spent our honeymoon in Thailand, exploring Bangkok and Phuket and I can’t wait to go back……….
Closer to home the UK coastal town of Southwold has a very special place in my heart, a place where many happy family memories are made.
Who would you like to swap places with for a day?
It would have to be my six year old son. To explore the world through his innocent eyes, have his boundless energy and enthusiasm and see what he gets up to with his friends at school would be brilliant.
What did you want to grow up to be when you were a kid?
Initially I wanted to be a lawyer but then I had my sights set on the travel industry and had visions of myself as a Holiday Representative with a Clipboard…..!
What is the ultimate destination on your bucket list?
Taking my children to Australia is definitely on my bucket list, traveling to the other side of the world as a family would be a real accomplishment for me – at the moment I am aiming for my Daughters 18th…..we’ll see!
